Happy Thursday, everyone! This is a new feature hosted by Buried Under Romance and Love Saves the World.

What is Throwback Thursday: Historical Romance Edition?
Traditionally, Throwback Thursday celebrates nostalgia, asking participants to post a personal photo or an image from their past -- usually from 5 to 10 years ago. There are a lot of book blogs that also do a book-related Throwback Thursday.  Since Tin and Mary C. are unapologetic lovers of historical romances, they've decided to focus on this beloved genre.

Here are the rules:
1. It must be posted on a Thursday.
2. It must be a historical romance novel, published before October 2008.

An Affair to Remember (Talisman Ring #1)

An Affair To Remember by Karen Hawkins
Published in 2002.

Saddled with five unruly orphans, the Earl of Greyley, Anthony Elliot, is at his wits' end. Unfortunately, the only person willing to deal with the adorable little terrors is Anna Thraxton, governess "extraordinaire" --- and the one woman Anthony can't abide. She's too outspoken, too opinionated, and far too beautiful for his peace of mind. A woman should be meek and mild --- words that perfectly describe his prospective bride, not the flame-haired temptress who haunts his dreams.

Anna knew this job would be trouble the moment she set foot in the door --- but it's Anthony who's the problem, not the children! He's too arrogant, too sure of himself, and far, far too wonderfully big and masculine. The young girl he's courting will never be able to handle him, so someone clearly needs to teach Anthony a few things about women. But when lectures turn to kisses, igniting a passion they can't ignore, how will they resolve the battle between honour and their hearts.

This is a hilarious battle of the sexes-type novel that is heavily inspired by the The King and I.  Anna and Anthony's constant bickering and eventual courtship is pure entertainment and the children are cute without being precocious or annoying.

  1. I am so glad your doing this meme as well, I love it because Historical romance is my favorite genre. I do love this title, probably one of my favorites by this author. I found the children to be beyond charming. Makes me want to re read this.

    1. I found the meme through your blog so thanks! I think I'm going to have a great time with this. I need to re-read this too.

  2. Hi Jennifer, so glad to have you doing TbT HR also! I've read your comments on the other ones and we have so much in common~ lol I actually visited your blog yesterday and followed through Bloglovin :)

I've only read Karen Hawkins's three most recent novels, but am looking forward to reading her backlist. Will definitely check this out ;D

  3. Hi, Jennifer!

Thank you for joining TBT: HR!

It's been a while since I read a romance with a governess in it and this sounds very interesting. 5 orphans? Makes me curious how Anna will manage this situation.

I've never read Hawkins before so I'll keep this on my TBR list. ^_^

    1. I am always seeking out governess romances since I wanted to be a teacher when I was growing up. Thanks for commenting!

  4. Hi Jennifer! I haven't read any Karen Hawkins novel yet and this one sounds too good to pass up. I'm also adding this to my TBR pile :) Thanks for sharing.

  5. Woohoo, Welcome to the group! Karen Hawkins is amazing~ I haven't read any of her later works, which goes for many of the authors that are being posted but I will get there one day. ;)

    1. I actually got lazy and haven't gotten caught up on Hawkins's newest series, but I plan to read it eventually. So many books yet so little time!

Yeah comments!! Thanks for visiting my blog. I will try to reply to your comments as soon as possible.
