WEEKLY RECAP: July 15-July 21, 2013

The Heiress Effect by Courtney Milan -- Lovely and thought-provoking romance with a heroine who does everything she can to avoid marriage and a hero desperate to join the ranks of Parliament.  Review coming soon.

MacRieve by Kresley Cole -- Entertaining installment in the lengthy Immortals After Dark series.  Focuses on a member of the Lykae clan and a heroine becoming an immortal herself.  Review found at the link above.

Catch a Ghost by S.E. Jakes -- First in a new romantic suspense/male-male romance series.  It has two amazingly complex characters and enough intrigue to keep me reading late into the night.  I wanted a bit more interaction between the two heroes, but am anxious to read the next in the series.  Review coming closer to the September release date.

When Lightning Strikes by Meg Cabot -- First in the 1-800-Where-R-U series about a teenage girl who gets struck by lightning and gains psychic powers.  An easy read that kept my attention though I would have liked a bit more character development.  Review coming soon.

Code Name: Cassandra by Meg Cabot -- Second in the 1-800-Where-R-U series that has the heroine counseling at a music camp while hiding from the federal government.

Conspiracy in Death by JD Robb -- Ninth in the In Death series.  Features a serial killer that is stealing organs from the poor and downtrodden around the world.

The Winning Season by Alison Packard -- Baseball-themed romance with a publicist and a bad boy catcher.

Hollowland by Amanda Hocking --  Intriguing YA zombie adventure with a heroine desperate to save her brother. (FREE)

The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot -- First in an amazing YA series about a teenager who discovers she is the heir to the throne of a small European kingdom.  ($1.99)

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green -- Amazing and emotional YA romance about two teens with cancer.  ($3.99)
